7 Most Insane Things Happening In Wrestling Right Now (Nov 3)

3. F*cking Hell, Miz

Stephanie INSANE
WWE

The Miz has forged a career of taking sh*t and turning it into Shinola. Possibly even literally, given who was terrorising the locker room when he was coming up.

His upcoming match with Baron Corbin is as uninspiring as, well, Corbin’s current mini-programme with Sin Cara. Corbin has forged a career of taking sh*t and making the rest of us eat it. In a bizarre promo exchange, filmed in grainy SD wherever they could be bothered to cut them, this programme piqued curiosity, if not interest. It’s strange that both Miz and Corbin revel in their status as pure WWE thoroughbreds - for this was as Indie-fied as promos get.

Stranger still was Miz’s colourful use of language. After a brutal, economic onslaught - it’s crazy how the best promos don’t take 15 minutes to get to the d*mn point - Miz threatened, in a very un-PG way, to knock Corbin’s “teeth down his f*cking throat.” That was...unexpected, but brilliant. It was a promo antithetical to the WWE norm, and miles better for it.

Nothing is going to make anybody care about the match, true - but on this evidence, Miz proved once again that he is the best promo man in his company.
