WWE drew widespread criticism for the crass, wrongheaded decision to recast the Ultimate Warrior as a posthumous spokesperson for the fight against cancer. Several fans were aghast. Warrior laughed at the cancer-stricken Bobby Heenan, and decided his struggles in later life were the karmic result of him moaning about Warrior hurting his neck through being a clumsy, unprofessional d*ck of a pro wrestler.

But it's okay. Dana Warrior, his widow, has since revealed that Warrior atoned for his sins in a retaliatory response to a viral Vice editorial.

"I will not be disloyal to my husband's memory or speak ill of a man who is not here to defend himself. I can, however, tell you his heart was changed by conversations with his two daughters. The true testament of the man behind the character is his ability to evolve. My husband did just that."

We're two months shy of entering 2018, but we already have a winner in the 2017 Didn't Happen of the Year Awards. "The man behind the character". The former Jim Hellwig literally conflated the two by legally changing his name to Warrior via court order.

Dana is also a shoe-in for 2018's Warrior Award. He would be proud at the horsesh*t pouring from her mouth.
