7 Most Ridiculous Ways To Build Towards WWE Matches

It's genuinely difficult to envision any match between Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio ever being bad. Both extremely talented performers, the pair had worked magic every time they had entered the same wrestling ring. Sadly, in the Summer of 2005 they were saddled with a storyline that left a bad taste in the mouths of some.

Leading up to SummerSlam, Guerrero threatened to reveal a massive secret Rey had been hiding. Eventually, the cat was let out of the bag. Unable to have a child together, Mysterio and his wife sought out Guerrero for help. In essence, this meant that Rey's son Dominic was actually Eddie's biological offspring.

A Ladder Match was then set for the pay-per-view, with custody papers for Dominic hanging high above the ring. Even though Eddie Guerrero was a fantastically menacing heel, the material both he and Mysterio were given to work with during this rivalry was abhorrent.

This is the kind of storyline that WWE would balk at nowadays. Not only was it far-fetched, it made many fans uncomfortable to see Rey's real-life kid wheeled out to create on-screen drama.
