7 Occupational WWE Gimmicks That Were Really Stupid

1. Isaac Yankem DDS

Most people don't like going to the dentist. They're expensive, we go to see them if we have pain in our teeth and even though they might give you a lollipop when you're a kid we know that a lot of the time the news isn't good. In terms of creating a gimmick out of an occupation, though, having a dentist that wrestles was too farfetched even for the 1990s in WWE. The reason Isaac Yankem is number one on this list is because WWE thought enough of the gimmick that they would put him in a major feud with the likes of Bret Hart. It was so ridiculous to see a serious wrestler like Hart trying to fight off this evil dentist. Trying to convince fans to care about one of the best wrestlers ever against a dentist was a hard sell. The Yankem character did these evil promos from a dentist's office where he looked at the camera angrily and remarked about causing pain. Of course his teeth were all bad too, so they made him out to be a hypocritical dentist that didn't care about his own teeth. It was a character that lasted about half a year before WWE pulled the plug on it, which was the right move. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73riB4Bv8OU Apparently Jacobs wasn't a fan of Isaac Yankem either. In January 2014, he was on a radio show that asked him if they were talking to Kane or Isaac Yankem. The hosts thought it was funny. Jacobs did not. He said maybe they should do it another time, wished them well and hung up the phone. As a performer, Glenn Jacobs has proven himself to be a WWE Hall of Famer as Kane and there's no question of that. However, as Yankem he was saddled with one of the worst gimmicks in wrestling history even if most of us do hate the dentist.
