7 Reasons Batista Should Stay Away From WWE Until 2015

2. A Babyface Return Could Be The Worst Thing For Him

When Batista returned to WWE earlier this year he was in a babyface role. The fans booed him when he won the Royal Rumble and for the next month even though WWE tried to book him as a face he kept getting booed. Turning him heel after Elimination Chamber was the right move because the fans hated him. For the next three months he did a good job as a heel. What's different now? His movie success in Guardians of the Galaxy could make him more popular with the average fan, but the hardcore WWE fans are still going to boo him. Batista's role as Drax the Destroyer in Guardians was good. That doesn't mean anything in a wrestling ring, though. He's not the kind of guy that plays to the crowd that well or does anything that is that exciting. Batista's initial face run in 2005 and for the few years that followed was because he was in the perfect storyline with Triple H that made the fans want to cheer him. From there he was matched up against top heels. He was still pretty fresh. Fans don't look at him like Undertaker or Shawn Michaels. He's not going to get cheered just because he's an older wrestler. It will be tough to book him as a face and he knows that. The best thing he can do is come back for three months in early 2015, minimize his appearance, target only the heels like Triple H and hope the fans are receptive to that.
