7 Reasons Why Roman Reigns Will Struggle To Carry WWE

7. He€™s Too One-Dimensional

Roman Reigns made his WWE main roster debut in November of 2012. That was over two years ago, and we still don€™t know that much about him. Looking at his former stablemates, Seth Rollins is a greedy, manipulative and cowardly man who is solely out for himself. Dean Ambrose just wants to watch the world burns, with some hints of a troubled upbringing. Roman Reigns is...um€ a guy that likes to hit people in the face and yell €œBelieve that?€ The Shield itself was never quite defined either. They fought for a vague concept of €œjustice€, but it was never consistently enforced of what that meant. Now that Reigns is on his own, we are still left to fill in the gaps ourselves to what he wants in his solo run. This is far from a fatal flaw at this point, but to become a full-time main-event act this lack of character development is only going to hurt him. There are rare exceptions like Goldberg where less is more, but Reigns doesn€™t seem to quite fit that character type, nor does he have his charisma. He's like the aforementioned Ryback that just didn't quite connect with a mass audience. In order for people to get behind Roman, we need to find something about him that we can like, besides a nice head of hair.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
