Guardians Of The Galaxy was a box office smash hit in 2014. Playing the role of 'Drax The Destroyer', Batista earned rave reviews for his performance. The movie pulled in over $700 million in revenue, and was the most-watched superhero flick of the year. Even before it was released, the film was predicted to succeed. It's a good sign for Batista's acting career that he was even considered for a part. Previously, the wrestler had played the role of 'Diaz' in Riddick. He's also cut his teeth in many straight-to-DVD movies, none of which were lambasted heavily by critics. They weren't exactly lauded as brilliant, but they helped the man learn his new craft and network in Hollywood.
