7 Reasons Why Batista Won't Ever Return To WWE

4. He Hates The 'PG Era'

Appearing on Chris Jericho's podcast, 'Talk Is Jericho', Batista couldn't hide his distaste at the fact World Wrestling Entertainment now cater to a PG audience. Previously, both men had landed themselves in trouble for a Steel Cage Match in 2008. Vince McMahon was outraged that the pair had broken several rules of the new PG code during the bout, including using blood to create drama. Blading had been forbidden by the boss under the new guidelines, and Batista took a severe financial hit. Fined $100,000, Batista admirably also offered to pay fines dished out to Jericho, the referee and the road agents also involved. However, as he would later reveal during various interviews, Batista lost his will to really give his all for WWE that day. A noted fan of the 'Attitude' Era, the former World Champion dislikes the stringent limitations working a PG style places on his work. Over the years, Batista has worked in everything from Hell In A Cell Matches to Extreme Rules bouts. Blood, drama and more adult content is what he favours, so he's unlikely to wish to work under the current climate in WWE. Further to this, the company themselves are unlikely to go back to TV-14 any time soon, because they make a lot of money from sponsors for being PG.
