What makes wrestling successful at this level of exposure, is when it combines different entertainment facets. It needs to tick all the boxes thoroughly to appeal to the wide range of audiences the ‘New Era’ hopes to captivate.
Gillberg had his run, and likewise this won’t last forever. SmackDown needs a fine balance of competitive nature and buffoonery, and right now it’s saturated from head to toe with cringe-worthy finishes and laugh-out-loud “this is f***ing ridiculous moments.”
Raw and SmackDown need to meet in the middle if the company is to collectively revitalise their product.
