7 Reasons WWE Crown Jewel 2019 Is Going To Be A Disaster

3. All Cain, All Pain

Just what the f*ck do WWE here? Even more so than Tyson Fury's inevitable pulverisation of Braun Strowman, the promotion have absolutely booked themselves into a corner for the sake of a marquee match.

The MMA man isn't in Saudi Arabia on a one-off; Velasquez has reportedly signed a multi-year deal with the company. So he can't really undermine the entirety of his aura by crumpling in his first high-profile match.

But, stupidly, the WWE Championship is on the line. This means that, unless they book a totally underwhelming non-finish, Cain will become champion on his first night. And then what?

It's almost as if WWE didn't think about any of this in advance, and just put on the most eye-catching bout possible. Deal with the details later. Who cares about those? Oh, right: all those people who gave up following the product because it's such a pointless waste of time.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
