7 Reasons WWE Fastlane 2017 Absolutely Sucked

1. The Club Vs. Enzo & Cass...Again

If the plan is to have Enzo Amore and Big Cass finally win the tag team titles at Mania - something they've been foreshadowing virtually every time they touch a mic or get mentioned by the commentary team - it would be nice if the duo was not booked in segments and matches with the champs on every single show between now and April 2nd.

Although the crowd still chants along with their promos and they appear to be ridiculously over with the TV audiences, like the pair have lost a bit of their shine. Enzo has slightly improved in the ring while it seems as if Cass may have actually regressed a bit, and their shtick is growing a tad tiresome.

That being said, we all recognize them as the modern version of The New Age Outlaws and that act had a pretty incredible shelf-life considering their limited abilities. The chase is almost always more satisfying that the reign, but the chase needs to have a trace of intrigue behind it.

There can be no intrigue, no mystery and no anticipation for the team climbing that mountain, at least not WrestleMania-worthy, when the two squads are paired with each night after night. We've seen them in tags, we've seen them in singles, in promo battles and virtually every possible combination of segment. Their storyline together has already grown stale and we're not even that deep into it.

There's always the possibility that WWE will look to go a different direction for the annual supershow, but if that's the case then they've wasted a whole lot of time making us believe otherwise. And to be honest, there really aren't any other options considering how shallow the division is and the only other team that's actually over is being used in a non-wrestling "host" role.

This is what we're left with. A show that was supposed to have all of us fans frothing, anxiously awaiting the Raw portion of WrestleMania 33 left a bitter taste in the mouth of most that watched it thanks to some pretty lousy booking decisions. It's a shame to see the guys and girls go out and work hard to entertain, only to be undercut by poor creative decisions.
