6. WWEs Lowball Television Offer

Back in May, WWE announced that they had reached a new television deal with NBCUniversal. The new contract saw WWE remain on the USA, SyFy, and E! Networks with Raw, Smackdown, and Total Divas, respectively. While, on the surface, this renewal seemed like a good thing, it really wasnt. Prior to the announcement, WWE had hyped themselves up to their stockholders. They promised a monumentally huge contract with NBCUniversal or another provider. WWE was hopeful that with their steady stock increase, they would become a highly sought after product amongst television networks. However, it just didnt happen. In the end, not only did WWE fail to receive any significant offers from other networks, they received a relatively low offer from NBCUniversal. The new deal saw only a slight increase over the old one, and investors were simply not happy. Overnight, WWEs stock fell from around $19 a share to just $11. Reportedly, the drop resulted in Vince McMahon and his company losing nearly $300 million in one day.
