7 Times Roman Reigns Acted Like WWE's Biggest Heel

4. Attacking AJ Styles For No Reason

Roman Reigns deserves way more credit than he's ever going to get for pay-per-view matches against AJ Styles at both Payback and Extreme Rules 2016. The popular view that AJ 'carried' Reigns will never go away, this despite Styles himself complimenting Roman in numerous interviews since.

Maybe fans would have been kinder to Reigns had he not continually fired the first shot in segments with AJ. Take the 25 April 2016 Raw as an example: as Club members Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson held Roman in place so Styles could hammer him with a steel chair, AJ chose not to and actually invited his pals to leave Reigns alone and intact for the pay-per-view.

Suddenly, Roman broke free and attacked Styles, the same man who had been looking out for him just seconds before. Fans booed, not only because they much preferred Styles to begin with, but also because Reigns had heelishly sneak attacked his WWE Title rival.
