7 UFC Fights Brock Lesnar Could Take Next
1. Fedor Emelianenko
This is the fight that the UFC must, if at all possible, make should Brock Lesnar return to the octagon. For years, a superfight between Lesnar and Fedor Emelianenko (considered one of the greatest fighters of all time) was discussed. However, terms could not be agreed upon. The closest was a few years ago, when the UFC was talking about doing a stadium show in Dallas. The headliner? Lesnar vs. Fedor. Secret talks later confirmed by Dana White actually went well, and Fedor agreed to the fight. However, his father then passed away, and Emelianenko retired from the sport, presumably for good. Lesnar returned to the WWE.
And that was that. Until now. Fedor returned to action on Rizin FF's New Year's 2015 show, and fought again in June. He has won his last five fights, though they have not exactly come against top-tier competition. He struggled in his June EFN 51 fight against former UFC light heavyweight Fabio Maldonado, eventually earning a controversial majority decision win.
That said, he remains a popular, legendary fighter, and one the world has always wanted to see Lesnar face. He's also a free agent at the moment. Even if for just one fight, the UFC needs to sign him, and make the Lesnar fight finally happen.
Should it happen, the WWE also needs to allow Lesnar to compete again. They're one of the wildcards in all this, but Lesnar vs. Fedor would be huge, and a very winnable fight for Brock - which would be more free promotion for his "day" job.
