7 Ups & 2 Downs From Impact Wrestling (9 Feb)

4. Ruining The Party

As nonsensical as it was to have James Storm and Chris Sabin challenging for the World Tag Team Championships after losing a contendership bout, their title match vs. The Good Brothers was a fun main event.

Both teams made use of the usual tag wrestling tactic in that they cordoned one of their adversaries off for a duration of the bout. Karl Anderson found himself bombarded with flurries of offence from the aptly-named Beer Guns tandem, while Doc Gallows came in dropping bombs on Sabin and Storm. 'The Big LG' was on fire here; without question, his hot tag offence is some of the best in modern-day professional wrestling.

Matt Hardy and Private Party standing atop the stage essentially confirmed their interference at some point, which did indeed happen at the culmination of the match. They prevented Beer Guns from toppling the champions by barely touching Chris Sabin as he went for a pinfall attempt. 'Big Money Matt's' plan all along was for his guys to take the titles off of Gallows and Anderson, and now, they also have to tangle with Sabin and Storm.

Impact EVP Scott D'Amore has inserted the tag team legends into Saturday's title contest as a result of Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy's involvement, turning an already bonafide excellent contest into something worthy of the Match of the Night title. On a card that also features an eight-man X division scramble that includes Blake Christian, that says a lot. Saturday can't come soon enough.
