7 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE Raw (4 November - Results & Review)
2. Chaotic Main Event Brings Stories Together
For the past several weeks, WWE has been charting a few different stories on Raw: Damian Priest has been looking to get back to the main event scene but got derailed by Dominik Mysterio; Sheamus has battled the world champion’s right-hand man; and Seth Rollins has been embroiled in a feud with Raw’s biggest monster.
Monday’s main event brought all of that together in a four-way match to determine the number one contender for Gunther’s World Heavyweight Championship. Priest, Dom, Rollins, and Sheamus had a solid, action-packed contest that was humming along – with an obvious speedbump looming.
Once Rollins said in a pre-match promo that he was putting Bronson Reed in his rear-view mirror after defeating him at Crown Jewel, fans knew that Reed’s interference in the main event was a fait accompli. What one might not have predicted was that Bronson would widen his target beyond Rollins, flattening both Sheamus and Priest with Death Valley Drivers and Tsunamis, leaving both men laid out for Dominik to try to steal the win.
Mysterio came an eyelash away from picking the bones, but Damian recovered enough to hit a South of Heaven and get the pin.
Rollins, who was put through the announce desk via Tsunami, obviously has unfinished business with Reed, but now the Celtic Warrior and Priest have a gripe with Bronson, creating more paths for the Aussie and livening up the scene a bit more.
