7 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE Raw (10 Feb - Results & Review)

AJ Styles returned to the scene of the crime on Monday night.

The Phenomenal One entered the same arena where he got injured last year shortly after returning to action, but his appearance also happened to be in Nashville, where he competed countless times as part of TNA/Impact. And the fans let him know how much they loved him.

Styles soaked it in and cut a fairly standard heartfelt babyface promo about still having gas in the tank after overcoming a potentially career-ending injury. He vowed to check off items on his to-do list, but Dominik Mysterio and Carlito interrupted, providing a nice contrast to the cheers for AJ.

Styles used the Judgment Day as verbal punching bags until they attacked him, but AJ was able to put Carlito down after Dirty Dom bailed. This set up a match for next week between Dominik and AJ, but that wasn’t all for P1. Backstage, he happened by Ludwig Kaiser after the German expressed his disdain for Penta, who is also feuding with Pete Dunne. That seemingly put another puzzle piece on the board for a potential tag match.

And finally, Bron Breakker happened by AJ Styles backstage for a staredown and a very simple, “See you around.” That’s a lot of activity for Styles on his first Raw in quite some time, but in one show, WWE set up a return match, a potential short-term angle teaming with Penta, and an Intercontinental Championship match that could be excellent (think Breakker countering a Phenomenal Forearm with a spear).

That’s pretty economical.
