7 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE Raw (10 Feb - Results & Review)
3. Punk Makes More Enemies
CM Punk wouldn’t be CM Punk if he was out there making nice with all his opponents on WWE programming. Punk is at his best when he’s causing friction between himself and everyone else, ticking off the men across the ring from him and then having to overcome that added motivation he fueled.
Monday night, Punk observed that with Jey Uso choosing Gunther, everyone’s focus had turned to Cody Rhodes, and he called up his heated discussion with Cody a few weeks ago, where he told the WWE Champion that he was going to “stab him in the front” when he came for him. Punk then turned his attention to John Cena for declaring he was taking a spot in the Elimination Chamber, while Punk had to qualify. He wasn’t upset – oh no, no – but he was going to “beat the crap” out of Cena when they were face to face in the Chamber.
Punk also dressed down Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins as other potential opponents. And then, just to complete the picture, Logan Paul came out for his match and egged on Punk, who simply laughed at him and mimicked a gun to his own temple. After Paul reminded Punk that he tossed the Second City Saint from the Royal Rumble, Punk insisted that he “totally forgot [Paul was] in the match” before putting over Rey Mysterio.
Congrats to CM Punk, who managed to put four targets on his back in about five minutes. That’s quite the accomplishment.
