7 Ups & 3 Downs from WWE Raw (19 May - Results & Review)

5. The Most Punchable Guy In The Room

If ever there was a completely skippable match on Raw, it came Monday night in the form of Sheamus versus Grayson Waller.

The outcome was never in doubt, and no fan went into that match thinking they were going to see some industry-changing, must-see bout. For the first third of the match, it was a snoozer of mat-based holds ending in a stalemate.

But then Waller took control and started preening, drawing the fans’ ire. Then he drew Sheamus’ ire, and things started escalating. Throughout the final third of the match, Grayson played cocky-but-doomed heel to perfection, even trying to steal Sheamus’ 10 Beats of the Bodhran to no avail.

The “drama” between Waller – who tried to walk out on the match – and Austin Theory (who stopped Grayson) was completely secondary, but it wasn’t so overblown that it detracted from the match. For what this was, it was fun and fine.
