7 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (March 22 - Results & Review)

4. Nothing New (But Damn, There’s Chemistry!)

Roman Reigns Paul Heyman Cody Rhodes

Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes were never going to rock the boat with their face-to-face promo exchange on this week's show, but both are so good at this sort of stuff regardless. They needled one another well, and there's clear chemistry between the pair. Everybody knew that from last year's 'Mania build anyway.

The 'Tribal Chief' getting low key p*ssed when Cody asked if he or The Rock led The Bloodline was good stuff, and so was Roman thinking he'd suckered the valiant hero into an ambush before Seth Rollins and Jey Uso evened the odds. That shouted something loud and clear: Reigns has lost his magic touch as a master strategist.

Nothing major happened during this closing segment, but it was sweet to have Roman and Cody interact a little more without Rocky around. These dudes are the ones working WrestleMania's top match, after all. It's kinda important to put focus on them occasionally without The Rock splitting their spotlight in person.

Mission accomplished on that front.
