7 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (March 22 - Results & Review)

3. IYO SKY’s Strong Win

Believe it or not, this bout vs. Naomi was IYO SKY's first on WWE television since beating Michin on the 5 January edition of SmackDown. The champ isn't the kind of character to necessarily carry promos or non-wrestling segments every week, so it was good to see her actually working a match again. Pure wrestling is SKY's biggest strength.

Naomi was a functional opponent, and there was some story going in too due to her having Bayley's back during this whole Damage CTRL mutiny that's been going on. WWE has added multiple layers to all of this: Bayley was tossed out of her own group, Naomi has sympathy, Bianca Belair doesn't, and CTRL has galvanised behind IYO.

All of it combines to make strong content, and this match was definitely strong. IYO gave Naomi her fair share, but the reigning champion took the win in the end. Better yet, WWE's writers had some more fun in reserve for fans who fancied a little more than just the match itself.

Let the good times roll...
