7 Ups & 4 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (15 July)

4. Big Mac Talks

Steve Maclin essentially did the same thing this week that's he done in every match of his in IMPACT so far; he laid waste to a goober, who only got a glimmer of offence in, ending the match with some MMA elbows and his reverse Brainbuster finish. Somehow, your writer hasn't tired of it quite yet.

The goober in question this week was Kal Herro, who lost to both the Gunn Club's Billy and Colten Gunn, and the Pinnacle's Wardlow and Shawn Spears on AEW Dark and Dark: Elevation, respectively. Looking like your average 1980s babyface, Herro's only highlight was a flying Crossbody. Aside from that, this was all Maclin, as it needed to be. A Spear while Kal was trapped in the corner was as nasty as it was gorgeous.

After the bell, the former Steve Cutler finally spoke, noting how he came to IMPACT Wrestling well-prepared and is now done waiting. An ominous warning from Maclin made that extra bit intriguing by the fact there's a pay-per-view tomorrow where his former tag team partner could show up. Regardless of the context surrounding Steve's words here, this was another superb showing from the guy. IMPACT is doing him well.
