3. Nick Aldis Gets In Drew McIntyre’s Face

Obviously, so did Jacob Fatu, and that’s the match WWE will run with at ‘Mania. However, Nick Aldis squaring up to Drew McIntyre is promising, because it teases a match between them at some stage. The whole McIntyre quits thing has been done before, so it’s tough to take seriously (and it only lasted a few hours), but there was some good stuff during this opening segment.

The intensity was there between all 3 men, Aldis didn’t back down, and Fatu was a believable badass who just wants to fight rather than talk, talk, talk. All things considered, Drew vs. Jacob could be a win in Las Vegas. It likely isn't what most would've had in mind for the Scot when he won that '3 Stages Of Hell' match over Cody Rhodes in January, but it's better than nothing.

Also, if he's gonna be taking some time off TV after Vegas to shoot movies, then Drew putting Jacob over on his way through the (temporary) exit doors sounds like decent business. Fatu will be needed as an opponent for either Rhodes or Randy Orton once WrestleMania 42 is history anyway. It's important that he gets to look no-nonsense and strong.

The most interesting thing about the segment was Aldis point blank cutting through the noise of Drew's conspiracy chat and never backing down from McIntyre. If he's happy to do so, then WWE might have to put him in the ring and get this party started once the former WWE Champ returns from his sabbatical.

That could come in handy on a 'B' tier PLE later in the year.
