2. Another Promising Sign For Trick Willy

Trick Williams beating Jacob Fatu shows how much faith management has in him. Technically, it was Drew McIntyre who cost Fatu the match, but Trick looked like a star in this one and that’s important. These guys need another couple of matches in 2026, because this was fun stuff and one gets the impression they'd have loads more to offer once they built up some chemistry.

McIntyre’s interference was super-obvious, but not in a negative way. Nobody in attendance or watching at home would've bought his quitting claim anyway. In short, if you can give a rising star a momentum boosting win and further another story in one match/segment, then you’re doing well. WWE achieved that here, and they managed to have Jacob stare at the arena lights without dinging his hard man act one bit.

Win-win.

A babyface turn feels inevitable for Trick once 'Mania is through. It'll be hard for Triple H to keep him heel for much longer than that, 'cause fans buying tickets are right behind him. They love chanting 'WHOOP THAT TRICK' during his entrance, he's getting booming cheers for his 'arriving at the building' walk-ins or any time he appears on screen, and his matches are coming along nicely on top of that.

The way Williams showed fear when Fatu no-sold some of his attacks on the Samoan's head? Awesome. Someone needs to do his homework though, because that's been a WWF/WWE trope since forever. It worked within the framework of this match as an early way to get fans invested, right enough.
