7 Ups & 6 Downs From Impact Wrestling Hard To Kill 2020
3. Proving Himself
With Rich Swann unable to compete at Hard To Kill, what would happen to the World Tag Team Championships match that saw he and Willie Mack challenging The North? Mack went in it alone. On paper, that was perhaps a risky move from the challengers, seeing as it was just a few days ago when Mack stated he wasn't feeling at 100% following a knee injury he had suffered in the Tag Team Open.
You would never have been able to tell the man was injured though. 'Chocolate Thunder' put in the performance of a lifetime here, desperate to win the tag titles for himself and Rich Swann. While the numbers game did take its toll, there was nothing putting Mack down. Ethan Page (who wrestled the match ill, by the way) and Josh Alexander used frequent tags to weaken Willie, but they got their comeuppance in the form of Mack giving 'The Walking Weapon' a Canadian Destroyer from atop the shoulders of 'All Ego'. Madness.
That in itself was a truly memorable moment, but Mack's fighting spirit made the match that extra bit special so that no-one will be forgetting it any time soon. The Canadian duo went on to retain their titles, though even Page and Alexander can't take anything away from him. Just down to Mack's tenacity during the Handicap Match, he and Swann surely deserve another shot at the straps once the latter has been cleared.
If the two on one situation was this good, then how good will the full two on two scenario be?
