7 Ups & 8 Downs From One Year Of Bray Wyatt’s Fiend In WWE
6. 'Firefly Fun House' Bray's In-Ring Interludes
Match quality has hardly been at a premium for Bray Wyatt since he debuted the 'Fiend' character and smiling children's TV host alter egos. Nobody should be expecting the kind of fare that heightens senses on NXT TakeOver specials though, but his in-ring fare should still be compelling.
That hasn't been the case whenever he's wearing that red jumper.
Wyatt's matches (sans mask) against The Miz at TLC 2019 and Braun Strowman at Money In The Bank 2020 were both snoozers. They're akin to watching Scarecrow try to fight Batman without his bevy of psychological tactics; Dr. Jonathan Crane would have no chance, which is precisely why he hides behind fear-inducing gases.
Regular old well-meaning, possibly (definitely) unhinged Bray has acted cowardly during both bouts he's been involved in. That only goes so far, and it makes his work difficult to watch and enjoy when you could be getting some bad ass masked nightmare instead.
