7 Ups & 9 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (May 31)

6. The Vanishing Competitor

When the Money in the Bank match was announced and qualifying matches were held last week, it was revealed to be a seven-man ladder match for the briefcase. However, that field looks like it has shrunk.

On Raw last week, Cesaro, Sami Zayn, Dean Ambrose, Chris Jericho all Kevin Owens all qualified for the match. Then on Smackdown, Alberto Del Rio won his qualifying match. That should have left one spot to be filled, presumably on Raw Monday night. However, no mention was ever made of a vacant spot in the match. The graphics even were changed to indicate that all the slots were filled (though WWEs website still shows an open slot).

Now, maybe thats a deliberate move to lull fans into thinking there isnt an open spot, only to fill it next week (or the week after), but its also possible WWE has changed its mind and turned it into a six-man ladder match. If so, thats a pretty shifty move, advertising seven spots and then nixing one. Its not the worst thing WWE has done with changed plans, but it still stinks.
