7 Ups And 2 Downs From Last Night’s WWE NXT (Mar 30)

4. Singin' Songs 'Bout The Hobo Life...

Apollo Crews was next in action, winning a quick bout over Alex Riley. After the match, the arena lights dimmed and some strange music began to play. It turned out that it was Elias Samson, who was singing and playing the guitar live, delivering a musical promo. Samson wasn't playing anything particularly complicated, and his singing was nothing special (Corey Graves commented, "With a voice like that, no wonder he's homeless"), but it was a chuckle-worthy moment that tied in well with his character. The song felt both menacing and drifter-y, and beat seeing Samson participate in an actual match. Hopefully, the singing promos become a semi-regular part of Samson's shtick. Also hopefully, Crews beats him handily at TakeOver.
