WWE has tried to reinvent Dolph Ziggler several times throughout his career. Each time has been met with moderate success, but one thing that always seemed to remain was him wanting to steal the show.

Monday night, he and Drew McIntyre didn’t try to show off, they just demolished Titus Worldwide in short order. Afterward, Dolph said that Drew was there to have his back. McIntyre but a blistering promo, saying he saw a locker room gone soft, with no fire or ambition. He said he was the wakeup call and reality check WWE needed while Ziggler said they weren’t trying to steal the show, because they were the show.

It was a different kind of intensity from both men, a more serious, no-frills approach that could position them near the top of the card if WWE shows faith in them. For Dolph, it’s probably his best chance at a reinvention at this point.

He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
