7 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (August 27)
2. Time To Rock And Roll
Surprise returns to Raw can be a mixed bag. Oftentimes, it’s great to see a familiar face, and they pop the crowd.
But sometimes, the writers don’t really have anything for them to do, and they spin their wheels and sputter out.
But in Trish Stratus’ case, she had plenty of material to use, as Elias had badmouthed her hometown of Toronto, and she went back and forth with the troubadour for a while. He said Toronto would never win a Stanley Cup, and she said that was like him winning a WWE title. He mocked her upcoming match at Evolution, she told him to get out of her ring. He said she was in her 60s, and she slapped the taste out of his mouth.
Beyond that, it dovetailed with the next segment, with Trish’s Evolution opponent Alexa Bliss coming out, allowing the former champ to lay into the Hall-of-Famer.
This could be a pretty good match, and it’ll be interesting to see if Stratus is present on Raw for the build in the coming weeks.
