After Kevin Owens was squashed by Braun Strowman at SummerSlam, this writer wondered what in the blue hell WWE was doing jobbing out a former Universal Champion like that.

We might have gotten our answer Monday night.

After a competitive match that saw Owens nearly topple Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins, KO sat in a chair in the middle of the ring, finally spitting out two words: “I quit.” And then he walked off the program.

Odds are this is part of a larger storyline, perhaps an opportunity for Owens to rehab his image by disappearing and possibly returning with some backup (he lamented how Sami Zayn wasn’t around to help him at SummerSlam) – maybe Chris Jericho? Or maybe an advocate in Paul Heyman?
