7 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Sept 2)

DOWNS…

5. Just A Match

Cesaro The Miz Raw

Poor Cesaro. He keeps going out there and hitting people at 100 kph, and he keeps ending up being the one looking up at the lights.

Fresh off his victory at NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff, you might have thought that Cesaro would have an opportunity to follow that up with another win, but he was facing The Miz, who has an Intercontinental Championship match at Clash of Champions, so it was somewhat obvious who was going to win Monday.

Cesaro hit Miz with his array of dazzling European uppercuts, but Miz countered with his soft running knees in the corner and It Kicks before sneaking in a Skull-Crushing Finale for the win.

Maybe it was just this writer forgetting Miz was in an IC title match, or maybe it was just a feeling of malaise Monday night, but it felt like this match was just put out there for the sake of it being there, and that’s not a good feeling.

It doesn’t help that the match was bland, with the more dynamic wrestler losing.
