7 Ups And 6 Downs From WWE Raw (April 13)

2. A Flair For Repetitiveness

A Flair giving the same promo each week is not necessarily a down. Ric Flair made a career out of giving variations of the same self-aggrandizing promo week after week and became one of the biggest stars in the industry.

But Charlotte Flair giving yet another promo where she says “Bow down to the Queen” and speaks in that unnatural, slow manner in which she has an odd inflection is not the kind of weekly promo that’s making her segments must-see TV. Flair spoke Monday night and said a whole lot of everything we’ve heard a dozen times, without really saying much of anything.

Oh, she did mention Io Shirai, so there’s that. But overall, this was pretty paint-by-numbers for The Queen. How can the daughter of Ric Flair cut such a bland, lifeless promo? You’d think she’d pick up something from him in terms of delivery or content.

Whoever is writing these promos needs to go to school. Woooo!
