7 Ups And 6 Downs From WWE Raw (April 13)
1. The Show Must Go On…

After the news that surfaced last week, common sense would have dictated that a place of work such as professional wrestling should be shut down until further notice. After all, it’s not like you can keep six feet away from your co-workers while working a match.
But not only did WWE decide to soldier on, they also decided to forgo recording a bunch of episodes in a bunch and then give talent time off. Rather, they pushed to go live once again. Then, when questions surfaced about how WWE could be considered an “essential” business given Florida’s work restrictions, news surfaced that the governor changed his mind after talking to company execs.
This is just screaming for something to go horribly wrong, and if it happens, it won’t be Vince McMahon or one of the higher-ups who made this decision; it’ll be a wrestler, or a referee, or one of the backstage hands.
Worse yet has to be WWE’s statement about continuing to put on live entertainment: “As a brand that has been woven into the fabric of society, WWE and its Superstars bring families together and deliver a sense of hope, determination and perseverance.”
Barf. How some corporate hack could vomit this onto a page with a straight face is beyond comprehension.
