7 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Sept 14th)

Ups...

7. Setting The Table

No, we€™re not talking about the Dudley Boyz here. In this case, you have to take your hat off to Triple H and Stephanie McMahon for coming out and quickly (after the obligatory Connor€™s Cure spiel) lay out what was coming on the season premiere of Monday Night Raw. The Authority made the most of its short intro, detailing a couple major matches for Raw while plugging Night of Champions on Sunday. That sort of opening promo is lacking in today€™s WWE, as the company tends to go with 20-minute diatribes that try fans€™ patience and often highlight only one major angle. If we were talking The Rock or €œStone Cold€ Steve Austin handling the mic, then it would be an entertaining 20 minutes €“ but we€™re not. The quick plugs from the Authority and then even welcoming WWE Tag Team Champions to the ring were welcome changes from the norm. Doing this every so often helps rope in viewers without boring them to tears.
