6. Quick! Cut To The Crowd!

The desperate need to find the next viral sensation of a crowd reaction shot has gotten so far out of hand, that someone needs to toss Kevin Dunn off a ladder and through a table (metaphorically speaking).

Crowd reaction shots can be a great addition to a broadcast. Think about Miz Girl, Brock Lesnar Guy or all the reactions after The Undertaker lost at WrestleMania XXX. That unfiltered, emotional outburst from fans can really capture the moment. But WWE’s desperate attempt to capture such a moment during every match now actively detracts from the product.

During the #1 contender tag match, there was a great moment when Enzo Amore dove for a tag, only to have Cesaro intercept him with a European uppercut. It was a great move, but before we could get to the pinfall attempt, we had to cut to a shot of what presumably was a fan reacting – we’ll never know, because the person already had stopped cheering/yelling/looking shocked.

There are plenty of these examples each week, but rather than trying to catalogue them, we’ll just pick one out as a designee. Leave other examples you remember from Raw in the comments.
