7 Ups And 9 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (May 16)

5. Perversely Entertaining

Count this writer as someone who enjoyed the Make Darren Young Great Again segment on Monday. It wasnt laugh out loud by any means, and Bob Backlunds brand of humor wont resonate with everyone, but his confusion at Darren checking his smartphone (I dont care if you call it Einstein) for the time was amusing.

Lets give credit to WWE for trying something a little different with its humor. Rather than doing the usual childish jokes and sight gags, they went for an out-of-touch crazy man who clearly is behind the times. And Young just taking the confusion in stride and listening to his life coach made it even better.

Itll be interesting to see if they can stay in that mildly amusing lane for a while or even make you laugh out loud. At some point though, theyre going to need to interact in person rather than via split-screen.
