7 Ups And 9 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Nov 23)
1. Reigns Versus The World And Winning
Look, theres a value in keeping your hero strong. You cant have your top guy getting beat down constantly. But having him beat three guys into silly putty after one jumps you and knocks you out is just ridiculous. Actually, its the John Cena Super Cena formula. And thats exactly what happened with Roman Reigns in the main event. After he shrugged off a brutal assault by Rusev to launch his own on the Bulgarian Brute, King Barrett appeared out of nowhere to hit Roman with the Bullhammer elbow for the DQ. Barrett threw Reigns into the ring and quickly retrieved a steel chair, but Roman quickly revived, grabbed the chair and proceeded to get shots on Barrett, Rusev and then Sheamus. Raw ended with Reigns standing tall. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qIhZPzr2cCA Keep in mind that the TLC PPV is three weeks away. Its not like he needed to overcome weeks of beatdowns from the heel trio, grabbing an equalizer to fend them off. This was the first time he had faced off against the reunited European Union, with Barrett executing a sneak attack on him. Monday would have been the time for him to stumble, and then recover in the following weeks, climbing back into the fight to overcome the odds. But Vince McMahon has designs on Reigns being the next John Cena, so that means that he must believe that Roman should be able to shrug off three mens attacks to close out Raw standing in the ring. Get ready for Super Roman, everybody.
