6. A Tune-Up For Ryback
Time and time again, fans complain about the 50/50 booking of WWE, throwing guys out there to trade wins, thus resulting in no one truly getting a leg up on anyone else. Fans sometimes lament the lack of jobbers, like WWF used to employ in the 80s and early 90s, when youd have no-names go up against major stars on television to simply get the star over. WWE doesnt really employ jobbers in the same way today, but if you needed an example of one, Heath Slater would fit the bill pretty well. Slater has won exactly one televised match this year (against Adam Rose, by the way) and was served up as perfect cannon fodder Monday. Heath insulted the crowd by trashing country music while prepping for a rock concert. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wk42HgAm3Zo Ryback interrupted the show, only to have Slater do his best Honky Tonk Man and break the guitar over the Big Guys back. But Ryback shrugged it off and decimated Slater, ending his night. And that is exactly Slaters station as a wrestler: make Ryback look like a beast and entertain the fans. Thats exactly why you need entry-level guys like Slater.
