7 Ups From Last Night's WWE NXT (April 6)
4. The Demon Reigns Supreme
The main event of TakeOver: Dallas pitted Samoa Joe and Finn Balor against one another for the second time. In a wild match filled with blood stoppages, brawling into the crowd, and Balor putting his body on the line, the NXT Champion managed to retain his championship. Joe locked on the Coquina Clutch in an attempt to choke Balor out, but "The Demon" kicked off the turnbuckle, flipped back, and pinned Joe's shoulders to the mat for three.
A decimated Balor didn't have much to say following his victory - he had been knocked silly, and only managed to escape with his championship due to quick thinking and a bit of luck. He knew that his victory wasn't the most decisive, and acknowledged it, noting that he didn't win the match, he simply survived.
Still, Balor was a wordsmith compared to Samoa Joe, who was filmed angrily stomping through the arena's corridors. An interviewer tried to get a word with Joe, but he furiously walked off. Could a third match between the two men be a possibility, after all?
