7 Ways UFC Could Book CM Punk's Return

2. Battle Of The Cans

Mike 'The Truth' Jackson wants a battle of the cans. Dana White thinks that's hilarious

If you don't know Mike Jackson, he doesn't sing. At least not that we know of. What he does, is run an MMA website, and work as a videographer on the regional MMA scene in the U.S., notably for Legacy. He's also a kickboxer, and when the UFC wanted Mickey Gall to pick up a win in the promotion before fighting CM Punk, they tapped Jackson as his opponent.

Jackson was squashed fast - in 45 seconds by rear-naked choke. Consider that. CM Punk at least lasted a couple of minutes. Jackson lasted less than one. Which actually would make this, on paper, a more competitive fight.

It gets better: Jackson has been calling for Punk ever since he lost to Gall, and he recently suggested they fight to see who the biggest can in the UFC really is. Dana White got a good laugh out of it, but it's actually a really solid option. Jackson has only two fights on his resume, the loss to Gall and an amateur loss from 2009. Punk has his lone UFC loss.

It's a way to get Punk a fair fight, and it would either show us Punk can win a fight, or end the experiment once and for all. He doesn't need to headline: just put him on FOX.
