7 Ways UFC Could Book CM Punk's Return
3. A Freakshow Fight
A power ranger? Another pro wrestler? Freakshow fights are an MMA tradition. We discussed that earlier, under the notion that any UFC fighter vs. Punk is sort of a freakshow bout (or at least a squash match). However, what about a real freak show?
Actor Jason David Frank, better known as the Green Power Ranger, has repeatedly called out CM Punk. It's a C-list celebrity trying to keep his name out there, but Frank has martial arts experience and is 1-0 as a pro, 4-0 as an amateur in MMA.
That's unlikely, but what about another pro wrestler? Kid Kash recently made his MMA debut, fighting at welterweight, the same weight class as Punk. He lost the bout in under a minute, meaning Punk actually had the more successful debut.
Of course, Kash is a fair bit older than Punk, but really, it wouldn't matter in this type of fight. Back in the Pride days (or in Pride's current incarnation, Rizin FF), this fight would have been booked without hesitation, as Japanese audiences love to see pro wrestlers fight for real.
