In 2003, WWE started their Tribute to the Troops program. The annual event pairs WWE and Armed Forces Entertainment for a December show that features WWE celebrating the lives lost in 9/11 and the work of the military to protect the country. Tribute to the Troops seen by many weekly WWE viewers as a throwaway program. However, as far as things that have changed about WWE since 9/11, it may be the most notable broadcast of the year.
