7 Worst Possible Fates In AEW
3. Get A One-Year WWE Non-Compete Clause
Depending on your point of view, Andrade El Idalo is either one of the most unlucky wrestlers of his generation or a walking car crash. Bouncing around from federation to federation in recent years, Andrade's arrivals in AEW or WWE have been so short-lived that he's been the real-life version of the Grandpa Simpson meme.
Things started so well for Andrade. After a glittering run in Mexico and killing it in NJPW for five years, he arrived in NXT in 2016. Crucially, the black and gold brand understood Andrade and his style. However, his lack of microphone skills was always going to be a stumbling block for him in Vince McMahon's WWE, and so it came to pass.
After leaving WWE in 2021, he moved to AEW for two mediocre years and allegedly had a real-life fist fight with Sammy Guevara, before returning to WWE in 2024. He lasted only 20 months back with the company before alleged wellness violations led to his termination. Given his fisticuffs with Guevara, it was something of a shock to see Andrade return to AEW with the Don Callis Family less than three weeks after being let go from WWE. That was nowhere near as shocking as what came next, though, as his WWE contract is believed to have a one-year non-compete clause that's seemingly left El Idalo in limbo until the final quarter of 2026. Maybe he can hang out with Brit Baker and Danhausen in No Man's Land til then.
