7 Wrestlers Who Should Never Sign With WWE (And Why)
1. Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes simply cannot ever go back to WWE because, if he does - and the allure of his old company convinces him to give up on everything he’s achieved - then there is truly no hope for anyone.
In the last 18 months he has become one of the most important character wrestlers in the world. He’s not one of the best in-ring (that’s never been his thing) but his heel work in Japan and Ring of Honor has transformed both himself and those companies.
He’s a marketing genius, he is a license to print money, and he’s been the catalyst for a sh*t indie show selling out a 10,000 capacity venue.
He is living proof that no matter how deeply buried you are on WWE’s mid-card, no matter how god-awful the gimmick you’ve been lumbered with is, if you have the talent you can make it work, and make even better bank, somewhere else.
He gives all that up for another underwhelming run with the ‘Dub and... well, what was the point? It’s like leaving a relationship that made you miserable and, the second you’ve made your own life amazing, you get back with your ex. You’re better than them Cody, and you still owe me a drink.
