7 Wrestling Dream Matches That Sucked (When They Finally Happened)

6. Demolition Vs. LOD (WWF Wrestling Challenge, 10 February 1991)

Whether Bruce Prichard wants to admit it on his 'Something To Wrestle With' podcast or not, Demolition were surely created as WWF's answer to The Road Warriors. Complete with painted faces, menacing names, a rocking entrance and squash-match power moves, Ax and Smash had much in common with Hawk and Animal.

When The Road Warriors signed on with the company in 1990 and became Legion Of Doom, tag-team lovers salivated at the thought of seeing them clash. This, they bragged, would be the tag match of the '90s. It wasn't, it wasn't at all. Sadly for all concerned, Demolition were handicapped by Ax being phased out and the addition of Crush the same year.

This was not the Demolition vs. LOD match people craved.

After months of working six-man tag matches (usually with The Ultimate Warrior making up the numbers alongside LOD), both teams finally went at it on Wrestling Challenge. On 10 February 1991, Crush and Smash worked a short, five-minute snorefest against Hawk and Animal. So much for that.
