7 Wrestling Grudges That NEVER Really Ended
2. Eric Bischoff and Vince McMahon
The Monday Night Wars had all manner of mini-feuds across them. From Jim Ross being mocked after having a stroke with the character Oklahoma to the Billionaire Ted skits, there were loads of individual issues that spilled onto our screen to make the whole saga all the more compelling. At the beating heart of it all, was the two men pulling the strings for their respective rosters: Eric Bischoff and Vince McMahon.
Eric would constantly call out McMahon, sometimes via signs in the crowd and other times more directly (like offering him a match at WCW Slamboree in 1998. Vince McMahon very obviously had contempt for the first man to ever hand him his ass for 83 straight weeks. They eventually buried their feud and worked together when Bischoff was hired to work for Vince as an on-air talent, long after WCW closed its doors for business.
Since then, there have been good times and bad times. Bischoff was brought back as Executive Director of SmackDown in June 2019 but was fired just four months later in October. Bischoff is fairly complimentary towards McMahon on his podcast, even in the current era, but it's hard to imagine that their history together will ever fully squash their beef.
