7 WWE Gimmicks Designed To DISGUST You
6. The Boogeyman
Spooky wrestlers were all the rage in the 1990s.
Sting was rocking his 'Crow' character, The Undertaker's dark gimmicks ranged from his urn giving him supernatural powers to Ministry Of Darkness-led Satanic spookiness, Papa Shango had Voodoo, and Vampiro looked like the undead. There was a lot of Halloween-friendly wrestling going on, and the general concept must've been for The Boogeyman to revive these creepier times. Only...that was never going to happen with a gimmick this grim.
Boogeyman's act included wearing an oversized clock whilst looking like a demon Flavor Flav, providing more bad jump scares than the average Blumhouse movie, and attempting to terrify his adversaries by spitting out nursery rhymes in a menacing fashion.
However, none of those things are what he is best remembered for.
Debuting in October 2005, The Boogeyman had worms. We're not talking parasitic infections; we mean literally. Boogey would take a fistful of worms and shove them into his foes' faces, and spill them out of his own mouth in a successful attempt to gross out the audience and his opponents. This is disgusting enough if a child is doing it, but it's demented when it's coming from a man in his 40s.
