7 WWE Main Events You Won't Believe Didn't Close A PPV

4. Over The Limit 2012

The Match That Closed The Show: John Cena vs. John Laurinaitis. It happened again! John Cena vs. Kane looks like a Bret Hart vs. Kurt Angle match up compared to this, well you get the idea. Right in the middle of the "People Power" era, Laurinaitis was conducting his reign of terror over the WWE locker room as both Raw and Smackdown general manager. The stipulation was added if Cena won Laurinaitis would be fired. What ensued was a complete disaster. Overlooking the lack of wrestling, this match involved Cena playing to the crowd on the microphone during the "action" and at one point even brought himself and a beat up Laurinaitis over to commentate while this was going on. It all thankfully came to an end after a previously fired Big Show showed up to seemingly take out his frustration on Laurinaitis. He proceeded to knockout Cena turn heel for the umpteenth time and we got to hear Michael Cole repeatedly scream "Big Johnny did it!", to close the show. Riveting stuff.
The Match That Should Have Closed The Show: Daniel Bryan vs. CM Punk WWE Championship. Does anything else really need to be said? The two best performers in the company wrestling for the WWE Championship. This is your main event, case closed. Punk got screwed once, twice, certainly it wouldn't be three times a lady and happen again right?
