7 WWE Wrestlers Who Deserved Better At WrestleMania 33

6. Luke Harper

Just a few short weeks ago, it wasn't entirely out of the question that Luke Harper was going to be added to the WWE World Championship match between Bray Wyatt and 2017 Royal Rumble winner Randy Orton. Harper had turned on Bray and Orton during the Rumble match itself, and was the clear winner of a SmackDown Live battle royal to decide a number one contender for Bray's title, after all.

But rather than standing across the ring from his former Wyatt Family brethren, it is looking increasingly likely that the best Harper can hope for on 2 April is a spot in the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. That battle royal promises to be the most stacked in its short history, but that will be scant consolation to one of the most consistent performers on the roster.

In many ways Luke Harper is the wrestler's wrestler in 2017, the name that gets brought up more often than not when WWE superstars are asked about underrated talents. At 37 years old Harper may well have many years left in WWE - but the focus on the Wyatt Family promised a lot more to the 'Backwoods Brawler' than he seems to be getting.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
